The fastest rising sport in Japan can be considered to be snowboarding. Take a trip to any ski resort in the country and you will be amazed by the huge crowds that are there for a taste of the thrills the sport provides. When one remembers that there are close to 600 resorts, it becomes mind-boggling to realize just how popular snowboarding is with the Japanese.
The Japanese are not the only ones who have taken to the sport. Visitors from as far as Australia, South Africa and the United States also make the sojourn to its shores to experience the different snowboarding resorts. There will always be something different in every country and this attracts and excites tourists just as much.
Previously, skiing was the number one snow sport in Japan. But since snowboarding came onto the scene, the style and hip factor associated with it quickly established its greater acceptance. The culture of Japan is one of a kind and has great variety. It has millions of fans globally because of its ability to both fascinate and excite many individuals. The Japanese have also been able to adapt modern culture and made it their own, while retaining much of their past identity.
This cannot be more true than in her export of fashion. The Japanese never rest on their laurels and are always on the cutting edge when it comes to designing and dressing up. This has meant becoming an industry leader especially in the surrounding regions.
Fashion in Japan has huge variety. There is the popular street fashion that is copied in other Asian cities like Seoul and Singapore, while Western youth have taken to it readily. The more off-center Japanese Cosplay and Kogal fashions also enjoy hardcore cult followings all over the world due to the explosion of anime’s popularity.
J pop, or Japanese pop music as it is also known as, is another product of the modernization of Japan. It initially drew on Western influences to build an identity of its own. Now, J pop is constantly lapped up by adoring fans all over the world, even in the United States and Europe.
The Japanese language has also prospered as more foreigners are taking up lessons in order to understand the various Japanese hobbies they have. Music is one such area where fans have flocked to take up courses so they can know what their favorite J-pop stars are singing about.
